Times Square Shuttle gives a taste of Switzerland until May 12, 2012

Swiss Metro

Now until May 12th, 2012, the New York MTA shuttle train from Times Square to Grand Central Station has been transformed to have passengers experience the beautiful landscapes of Switzerland.

Four cars have been wrapped inside and out with four different motifs. Mountains, waterfalls, and typical Swiss scenery brighten up the Times Square Shuttle for the short ride and unfortunately, a short time. The four trains represent SWISS (Swiss International Air Lines Ltd.), St. Moritz, Jungfrau Railways and Interlaken region, and Swiss Travel System-Rail Europe.

If you would like a brief tour, check out this video:

On my recent hiking trip to Switzerland last August I found out how incredible the scenery, cuisine and hiking really is. If you would like to read about Vevey and the Unesco World Heritage site of the wine country, click this link to read my article.

There is an animal on the train!

Special airfares to make traveling to Switzerland easier this summer are available on the SWISS Website. Many hotels for $100 pp including breakfast can be found on the website for Switzerland tourism  which also has comprehensive information on all the regions.

If you enjoy fresh air, outdoor adventure and wholesome cuisine, you will love Switzerland.

About Georgie Jet

Hi, I am Georgette, a writer and artist based in Connecticut and Vermont. I am also Johnny Jet’s older sister, who quite possibly ignited his first spark of interest in traveling to exotic places, when at the impressionable age of 14, he saw my two-week trip to Australia last four years! Whether skiing in the mountains, snorkeling in the tropics, or exploring faraway cities, I am always game for traveling and the privilege of writing for my baby brother's website JohnnyJet.com. Of course, coming home to my husband Cam, our dog Baci, and my two cats Ace and Chammy- is great, too! Visit my website at www.georgettepaintings.com.
