How often do you fly: At least once a month. Lately it’s been about two or three times a month.

How many countries have you been to:  (Rough estimate if you aren’t sure)
We’ve been to over 60 countries.

How many continents have you been to:  Officially we’ve stepped foot on all 7 continents. However we don’t 100% include Australia as we have only done an overnight stay there and like to really explore the country before we can say that we’ve visited it.

Favorite American city:  New York City. That place really lives up to the hype.

Favorite international city:  We’re still fans of Bangkok after all these years. So many other cities rock, but we’ve enjoyed Bangkok since first visiting it in 2000 and always feel at home when we go back.

Least favorite country:  I’m going to have to say India. Even though we met amazing people there and saw amazing temples and monuments, it’s still our least favourite of all the places we’ve visited.

Favorite World Heritage Site: Oh no, there are so many to choose from how does one pick? Being Canadian we should choose the Rocky Mountain parks of Banff and Jasper which are absolutely beautiful, but then again we are answering this questionnaire from Quito, Ecuador which is pretty awesome and we did just return from the Galapagos which was spectacular. But we’re going to go with Kilimanjaro National Park because we had such a fun time climbing that mountain.

Favorite airline:  Qatar Airways is amazing

Favorite aircraft type:  The Pitts Special aerobatic stunt plane because its the only plane I’ve ever flown upside down and all around in!

Aisle or window: Aisle

Favorite airport lounge:  We don’t frequent airport lounges very often. We’re still part of the masses waiting in the holding with the rest of the regular folk. However, we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a few and The Air France Lounge was quite the stand out.

Favorite U.S. airport:  Can we choose a Canadian one? We only ever seem to fly through LAX or JFK and we don’t like either. Our favourite North American Airport is definitely Vancouver.

Favorite international airport:  We like Beijing’s Airport. It’s easy to get to from downtown, it’s modern and quite orderly. Yes, Beijing it is.

Favorite hotel:  Four Seasons Amman. We love being pampered every once in a while.

Favorite cruise line:  Does an expedition to Antarctica count? We cruised with Quark Expeditions to Antarctica and it was spectacular. If not, Princess Cruises. We loved our trip to Alaska with them. We seem to only do cruises to extreme destinations.

Favorite island:  Zanzibar. It is definitely paradise.

Favorite fruit:  I love me a crisp and delicious apple. I know, It’s not very exotic.

Favorite food:  Italian, Thai and Japanese, we like it all!

Least favorite food:  Dave hates Papayas.

Favorite travel movie(s): Julie and Julia, One Week, In Bruges, Romancing the Stone, Vicky Christina Barcelona, A Good Year. We love movies, this list could go on forever.

Favorite travel show(s): Johnny Jet’s Hot Spots 2012 of course!

Favorite travel book(s): White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, The Bang Bang Club by Greg Marinovich and Jaoa Silva,  A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah. These are all very dark, let’s add Travels by Michael Crichton to lighten the mood.

Five things you bring on a plane:  Headphones, eye masks, tiger balm, nasal spray or moisturiser (my nostrils tend to get dry) sweater.

What do you always seem to forget:  Where we put the iPhone. We’re always asking each other where the iphone is because we only have one between us!

Favorite travel iPhone app(s): Our iPhone is so out of date. We’re buying a new one as soon as we get home. I’m looking forward to having a phone that can handle the new apps. We’ll get back to you once we’ve upgraded to the iPhone 4s

Most embarrassing/worst travel moment: There are so many it’s difficult to choose. How about the time I lost control of my bladder on an overnight train in Thailand. Is that embarrassing enough for you:) ? I’ve never told anyone that one and I am not elaborating.

What’s your dream destination: Uganda/Rwanda to visit the mountain gorillas. We have wanted to do that adventure for years and it is still at the top of our list.

Favorite travel website(s) – besides JohnnyJet.com, of course!:  We love so many, it’s difficult to single only a couple out. That is why we never to a top 10 list of travel blogs on our site. However, since you asked…Here’s a few for your readers to check out! …Ottsworld, Go See Write, Professional Hobo, Foxnomad, The Travel Tart and Easy Hiker. Apologies to everyone we missed. I decided to go with the first ones that popped in my head. I figure the minute I had to pause to think about another was the minute I’d stop writing down website names. These ones are obviously on my mind at the moment, but there are so many other great websites that we follow too.

Best travel tip: Eat locally. If you are in doubt as to where to have dinner, go for a walk and look for a restaurant filled with locals. Chances are the food will be fresh, authentic and reasonably priced.
