Summer may have technically begun on June 20th but the season’s enthusiasts will tell you the 4th of July is its rightful poster child.

This year, Independence Day falls on a Wednesday, smack dab in the middle of the work week. So unless you’re planning on taking the rest of the week off, you have 24 hours to ring in the holiday.

Sure, there’s always the token BBQ or party at a friend’s place but we want to learn about fun 4th ideas that are open to the general public. Whether it’s a local event in your neighborhood or something different you’ve done elsewhere, please share. The most cost-effective, timely (you only have a day), and inclusive vacay idea will win our “Made In America” travel package.

What You’ll Win:

1. The Anti-Bottle by Vapur: This flexible and reusable liquid “container” holds a half liter of water at its maximum capacity. It’s not only free of odor, stain and taste resistant, it’s light structure allows it to conveniently fold into any pocket and attach on to any object. (Made in the USA)

2. Anthony Bourdain’s The Layover, Season 1: One of our favorite travel gurus passes through some of the world’s biggest hubs. Constantly on the move and always in the know, Bourdain urges us to explore each city rather than wait for our connecting flight at the airport. Only in each city for a few hours, he shares unpredictable stories about different places, its people, and their food. (Manufactured and distributed in Louisville, CO)

3. PassKit, 2 Passport Booklet Covers/1 Zipper Holder w/ Lanyard: Made of durable, vinyl plastic that protects from the wear and tear of travel (water, salt, moisture, dust, and sand)  this protective cover is easy to access and remove if needed and comes with a lanyard to wear around your neck, fasten inside luggage, or loop around the handle of a purse for security. You can never be too vigilant of your valuables, and while abroad this is a travel must-have. Holder may be purchased at Store Smart. (Made in the USA)
