Since when did United stop offering p.s. (Premium Service) planes on their JFK – LAX route? I just booked a ticket on the 7am flight out of New York and was shocked to see that there’s no business class and a regular coach section. Normal p.s. planes are configured First, Business and Economy Plus. As you can see from the screenshot above this 757 plane has just First, Economy Plus and Economy. Anyone know the deal?

Here’s SeatGuru’s link of this type of aircraft (although row 7 is reversed) .

Here are a few stories/slideshows that I’ve done in the past of United p.s. flights:

United is shifting to a new 2-class PS product later this year, removing first class, expanding business class (adding Continental’s bizfirst cradles), and adding more coach seats that will be both EP and reg economy. My guess is that this aircraft is temporarily on the LAX-JFK run. Working on a story about this for The BAT…. stay tuned….

It’s been hit and miss recently. In the old UA days, this switch-out was a once in a blue moon event.

Good to know! Thanks for the 411
