Every plane spotter knows the best place in the world to watch airplanes land is on Maho Beach in front of St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport. I’ve only been once and that was before I had a digital camera.
This week, thanks to Hurricane Isaac a beachgoer filmed a very late Air France go-around. That’s pilot speak for when a plane aborts landing at the last minute. It’s happened to me a couple of times including last month at Heathrow Airport. The first time for me was nerve racking but the second time I noticed the flight attendants weren’t worried so neither was I. BTW: According to the videographer the plane landed safely about 15 minutes later.
