How often do you fly: On average, once or twice per month. Flight attendants recognize me on various routes.

How many countries have you been to: 33 and counting

How many continents have you been to: Three. Asia and Africa are hot on my list for 2013.

Favorite American City: New York, NY

Favorite international city: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada because of its perfect location between the water and the mountains. You could literally ski, sail and golf all in one day.

Least favorite country: I haven’t been there yet, fortunately.

Favorite World Heritage Site: The Bernina Express for a spectacular trip through the Swiss Alps. Pay extra for the panoramic car. It’s well worth it.

Favorite airline: Anyone airline where I’m seated in First Class.

Aisle or window: Aisle

Favorite U.S. airport: Miami International. You can’t beat a café con leche at Café Versailles to get you through the next stretch of your trip. Add sugar, and they might not let you on the plane.

Favorite international airport: Heathrow for the best duty free luxury shopping. I really need to remember to have longer layovers there and pack less in my carry-on.

Favorite hotel: The Dolder Grand, Switzerland – Great food, world class spa and complimentary car service to the best shopping in Zurich. It’s a perfect weekend break before or after skiing in the Swiss Alps.

Favorite cruise line: I have never been on a cruise, but I would consider an Abercrombie & Kent luxury cruise or the new Alila Purnama luxury wooden Phinisi sailing boat for only 10 people around Indonesia.

Favorite island: Turks and Caicos, which is actually a chain of 40 islands. Providenciales, the main island, has 12 miles of powder white sand, turquoise water and some of the most spectacular scuba diving in the world.

Favorite fancy restaurant: The Dining Room at Blantyre in Lenox, Massachusetts in the Berkshires. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen the Sommelier, Luc Chevalier fillet a Dover Sole tableside.

Favorite hole in the wall: Santarpio’s Pizza in Easton Boston, Massachusetts. The staff is right out of central casting. Boxing posters adorn the walls. Cash only.

Favorite fruit: Mangos from Saint Lucia. The annual Mango Madness Festival culinary event at Jade Mountain is worth the trip.

Favorite food: Fresh guacamole and tortilla chips. Serve it to me beachside, and I am one happy girl.

Least favorite food: I can’t remember, and it’s probably because I’ve suppressed it.

Drink of choice (In the air and on the ground): Sparkling water: Badoit or San Pellegrino. I fancy myself a water connoisseur

Favorite travel movie(s): Midnight in Paris – I would love step back to the Belle Epoque of Paris and dance the night away with Hemingway, Fitzgerald and Picasso. It was such a glamorous era.

Favorite travel show(s): Locked Up Abroad on National Geographic Channel. Does that count?

Favorite travel book(s): A Trip to the Beach: Living on Island Time in the Caribbean by Melinda and Robert Blanchard and Out of Africa by Karen Blixen

Right now I am reading: The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Five things you bring on a plane: I always carry a Tumi tote with my cashmere pashmina, rewetting eye drops, junk magazines, iPad, and business cards.

What do you always seem to forget: I can’t remember. I’m quite proud that I have my passport number memorized, though. Immigration forms are a breeze, and yes you can borrow my pen.

Favorite travel iPhone app(s): FlightTrack, Uber and Google Translate

What do you want your loved one to buy you from an airport duty free store: Anything from CHANEL, Ysatis de Givenchy perfume and of course, no one can resist a Toblerone.

Most embarrassing/worst travel moment: Trying to explain to the airport security person in a tiny Caribbean island airport that being told I was being randomly selected because I was first in line wasn’t so random. It didn’t get me through any faster.

What’s your dream destination: A luxury safari lodge in South Africa like the Royal Malewane which looks incredible.

Favorite travel website(s) – besides JohnnyJet.com, of course!: I love Condé Nast Johansens for great recommendations of independent luxury hotels, and the trusty favorites such as Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler.

Best travel tip: A smile is international. Be courteous and respectful of other cultures, and you will have a much more enjoyable trip.
