Travel Tip of the Day: Take the Stairs

StairsTake the Stairs
If you travel a lot, you know how difficult it is to eat well on the road and make time for a workout. Well, here’s an easier way to travel healthier: Take the stairs (and not the elevator) as much as possible to help counter all the food your body is taking in. It might seem inconsequential, but it’s really not—especially if you’re on a cruise and the dining room is on level four and your room is on level 12!

  1. Great idea. I am 5’2″ tall and weigh 100 pounds. Watch my died and only eat twice a day
and sleep for 4 hours (any 4). Very healthy.

  2. I take the stairs all the time every time we cruise…..and I have never gained weight on a cruise!

  3. I always take the stairs as much as possible when traveling and walk the terminal during layovers of flights

  4. I’ve always done that on cruises, never take an elevator, and it certainly does help as we eat more often than we do at home. Especially if it is a longer cruise than it really helps.

  5. I generally walk 8 to 10 miles per day when traveling, according to my pedometer, and usually end up exhausted at the end of the day, so I avoid stairs whenever possible while on the road. I want to experience as much of the city I’m visiting as possible and view stairs as things that prematurely sap my energy. At home it’s another matter; there I don’t walk enough so I always take the stairs.
