Reader tip 3The Reactive Packing List
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from Judith M. of Anchorage, AK., who says:

“When I return from a trip I rewrite my packing list for the next time. I comment on things I thought I would need, but didn’t use, and items I wish I had. Packing is different for locations and seasons so I have several different lists. This trims my luggage down to a reasonable size and makes packing easier for my next trip.”

Great tip, Judith! Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and remember, if you have a travel tip, please feel free to share!

Very good tip!. As my wife and I grow older (and wiser), it’s good to have a list. I have a master list on my computer that I print for each trip. It has reminders for all possible scenarios such as cruises, tours, car travel, etc., and I simply cross off those items not applicable to what we will be doing. For example, I have bug repellant on the list: crossed off for cruises but needed for a hiking trip. And, as I think of something, or see something on Johnnyjet, I add it to the list.

Great tip! I hate overpacking almost as much as under packing.
