(Reader) Travel Tip of the Day: Read Your Coverage Carefully

Reader tip 6Read Your Coverage Carefully
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from JoAnn M. of Reno, NV, who says:

“If you purchase travel insurance, read your coverage carefully before your trip. Our bags were recently delayed for 30 hours, and when I called the insurance provider I was told the policy I purchased didn’t include coverage for that. I had the policy in front of me and was reading the coverage. I was told it was a generic policy that listed everything upgraded policies cover. Read the evidence of coverage to make sure you know what is covered. Delayed baggage coverage was not in that small paragraph.”

Good advice, JoAnn. And for an easier (and cheaper) time overall with travel insurance, make sure to check out InsureMyTrip.com.

  1. I am a travel agent and I have just purchased a policy for clients from travelinsured.com. It is the world wide trip protection plan and the cost was $872. When I went to insuremytrip.com and checked for the exact same coverage for travelinsured they wanted $947.

  2. What should a good policy include?
