Everyone I know is fascinated by New York (I am too), which is why I just updated my Top Five New York City Travel Tips story. One of the updates was the addition of Tunnel Vision, a new app that was created as a NYU graduate thesis project. To activate Tunnel Vision, all you have to do is to take your phone out and point it at a NYC subway map. The map will then come to life on the phone, with animations that add context to the NYC experience you’re looking at. By simply moving the phone around the map, you can explore all kinds of data like turnstile activity, rent prices, income, etc..
