Water dispenser SFOWater Spout Caution
Use caution when refilling your water bottles at a water dispenser in an airport or hotel, as these sorts of water sources can often carry germs. If you do use them, the most important thing to remember is to make sure not to touch your bottle to the spout, thus sharing your germs on the spout—and possibly picking up others.

I would rather die of dehydration than drink from a public water fountain!

Water Spout Caution: Teaching Microbiology, students gathered swabs from water fountains and sinks just around campus. The amount of germs, virus types and bacteria present would stop anyone from using any public water source not personal cleaned and used by their family alone!!! I love the travel bottles by PUR but I don’t fill a tumbler and drink without an attached filter.

I agree. Water faucets appear not to be cleaned very often. In the new San Diego Airport
Terminal 2 they have special water fountains with filtered water and a sensor that automatically turns on when you hold the bottle under the water outlet. It’s a great way to refill a water bottle and save the cost of a new bottle of water. Check it out.
