reader-travel-tip2Bring a Sharpie
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip was left by a reader in the comments of Wednesday’s tip, which was about registering all guests at your hotel:

“Bring a sharpie! Put a small initial of person in room on each key card. We typically get a key for each person (teenagers!) and always have multiple keys/rooms. No more fighting over who ‘lost’ the key and we can easily figure out which key goes to which room. :)”

A good tip, especially when you’re traveling with kids or larger groups. Thanks!

Even better, before the trip, write initials on self-adhesive labels or dot stickers. That way, you don’t vandalize the key card, which would prevent it from being re-used.
