OutletPinch Your Plugs
I love that more and more airlines are installing power ports so we can keep our electrical devices and gadgets charged on long flights. However, lately I’ve found (especially on American Airlines) that the power ports don’t always work when you simply plug your device in. To get mine to work I lightly pinch the male metal prongs of my plug so they fit more snugly into the outlet and get the conductive connection to work.

Enjoy your tips. It’ll be a very useful tip if you can recommend some converter/adaption to get for plugging our US gadgets in the other country’s wall outlet. Last time I bought an adapter to be used in Hong Kong and Malaysia only to find out that the adapter physically fit but no electricity came out. I’m not sure why (I don’t think my adapter is defective because it did work once). BTW, in Hong Kong airport, they equipped (only) the bathrooms with 110 volt outlet (so the customers can shave, I guess). Go figure.

I have found this exact problem on many flights but the worst was Philippines Airlines. With my standard US iPhone charger, the outlet would actually “spit” my charger out of the socket. I finally used my two pin round adapter on the US plug and that held it in place. Funny!
