reader-travel-tip2Bring an Extension Cord
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Karol H., who says:

“Most important hotel accessory? An extension cord! Your iPhone or iPad wont reach from the hotel bed to the outlets! :)”

You might not need it, but always good to be prepared. A power strip is a great idea as well. Thanks, Karol!

FYI: For more charging help, check out the PlugBug and the Monster Travel Power Strip.

For my travel style, this is not very applicable. Extension cords might not take up a lot of space, but they are just one more thing to fit in. I’d rather go light and let my tablet charge by itself than add one more unnecessary thing to my packing list.

Also, I’ve never found the beds in hotels, domestic or international, to be very far away from the nearest outlet. I just don’t see this as being useful (again, at least for my preferred travel style–I can see why some people would like this idea)

Refill your water bottle at the hotel gym, where there is always a dispenser with filtered water. I do this whether I’m working out there or not.
