How often do you fly? As often as possible.

How many countries have you been to? 92 and counting.

How many continents have you been to? All except Antarctica.

Earliest travel memory: Standing among the giant Redwood trees in CA.

Favorite American city: My hometown.

Favorite international city: Too many to list.

Least favorite country: None. Even annoying countries are fascinating.

Country with the meanest immigration officers: New York City.

Favorite World Heritage Site: Egyptian Pyramids.

Favorite airline: The one that gives me the best deal.

Favorite aircraft type: Whichever one will take me to where I need to go at the time I need to leave.

Aisle or window: Always an aisle.

Favorite airport lounge: I don’t really don’t see the benefit of them.

Favorite U.S. airport: Any place that doesn’t require me to take a tram.

Favorite international airport: Any place that doesn’t require me to take a tram.

Favorite hotel: I am definitely an Aman junkie.

Favorite cruise line: QM2. There is something about being unreachable in the middle of the ocean.

Favorite travel credit card: Hotel credit cards that give me free nights.

Favorite island: Wherever I am going next.

Favorite beach: Where ever I am going next.

Favorite fancy restaurant: Alinea, hands down.

Favorite hole-in-the-wall: Subway Bar, the original location in NYC.

Favorite bar: Chocolate.

Favorite fruit: Anything tropical.

Favorite food: Pizza.

Least favorite food: Sushi.

Drink of choice (in the air and on the ground): Water with no ice.

Favorite travel movie(s): If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium.

Favorite travel show(s): Big Blue Marble when I was younger.

Favorite travel book(s): Arthur Frommer’s “Europe on $25 a Day” book which inspired my first trip to Europe.

Right now I am reading: “Food, A Love Story.”

Top 3 favorite travel newsletters/magazines/blogs: My lips are sealed since I work with all of them.

Favorite travel website(s)besides JohnnyJet.com, of course! thepointsguy.com. I think he is a genius.

5 things you bring on a plane: Neck pillow, fluffy socks, eye mask, moisturizer, and lip balm.

What do you always seem to forget? Ample amount of food. I am convinced that I am going to starve to death on a plane.

What do you like least about travel? Going home.

What do you want your loved one to buy you from an airport Duty Free store? Foreign food.

Favorite travel app(s): Currency XE which I am obsessed with.

Most embarrassing travel moment: Developing Salmonella poisoning in a famous Barcelona restaurant as I was dining with clients. I spent 9 days in the hospital. The best part was that I had my high school reunion the following weekend and I was REALLY thin and looked great.

Worst travel moment: Being kicked off the train in Belarus because I failed to properly check my visa. We had one transit visa for two days rather than two transit visas for one day. Imagine one mother and two little children dragging their Tumi luggage through the ripped up streets of Minsk right before the country entered their revolution. While the world may have not known it was going to happen, we did. That was when my son decided to have a meltdown about his Gameboy.

Whats your dream destination? The Maldives.

Favorite travel charity: Starkey’s So The World May Hear.

Best travel tip: Just go! Don’t think! (P.S. Take trip evacuation insurance…).

My visit to the Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul required me to update my profile. The lounge is in a class of itself and a destination. There are omelet and panini stations, you can watch the chef making Turkish bagels or wraps, eat local Turkish pastries or from Demel of Austria, have a massage, play slot car racing, watch a movie with popcorn or event take a nap to name just a few of the activities to occupy you until your next flight.
