Boarding passKeep Your Boarding Pass
Yesterday’s tip was about making sure your frequent flyer number is on your ticket. Well, just because the number is on there doesn’t guarantee you’ll get credit for the flight. That’s why you should always log into your account a day or two later to make sure (American and Delta usually credit within 24 hours).

If your credit is not registered in your account (it does happen), you’ll need your ticket number to request it—and the ticket number is on your boarding pass, so don’t throw it away after your flight. I keep all of mine because I’m a packrat but also so if I don’t get credit for my flight, I can prove to the airline I was on the flight.

EXCELLENT ADVICE JJ…I work for an airline and what many people don’t realize is the award programs are self-monitoring.

Great reminder! Is taking a picture of the boarding pass sufficient? I always have the pictures on my phone, but don’t always remember where I put that boarding pass stub.

Won’t the email version of your boarding pass work?

    Hi Johnny Jet,
I see that you not only did not pay $12.50 to get early boarding but you did not check in 24 hours before departure. New to Southwest? Good tip on saving your boarding card. I usually print mine at the counter before the flight so I know I’ve got a record.

Yeah, that was a while ago and I pay the $12.50 now
