Short bio: I am a married father of 4 and owner of International Recovery Group. My business partner, Bob Weeks, and I bought the business in November 2005. We have repossessed about 2,000 repos of boats, airplanes, construction equipment, RVs, and race horses (yes, racehorses) since that time.

How often do you fly? I fly every couple of weeks or more.

How many countries have you been to? I have repo’d in 8 I think. The company has repo’d in more.

How many continents have you been to? 3

Earliest travel memory: We did not travel a lot by any means other than a car. My first flight was probably to Orlando when I was 15. We did do driving trips up to 20 hours though.

Favorite American city: Other than Philadelphia, which is home, it is San Francisco.

Favorite international city: Toronto.

Least favorite country: I cannot make this public in case I have to go back.

I have no desire to go to: The Middle East.

Friendliest people in the world: From visiting, Canadians. From TV show interactions, the people from Australia and the UK are incredibly kind.

Country with the meanest immigration officers: Venezuela.

Favorite World Heritage Site: I have done far more domestic traveling and still love the historic section of Philadelphia. I would really love to visit the Colosseum in Rome.

Favorite airline: Southwest.

Favorite aircraft type: For traveling, the bigger the better. It gives me more room. Personally, I love the classic Stearmans.

Aisle or window: Aisle.

Favorite airport lounge: Ha…I never visit the lounges. I am always in a rush doing something.

Favorite U.S. airport: I have always wanted to write a top 10 and bottom 10 list for airports. I have visited so many. Favorites are Ft. Myers, FL, Manchester, NH, and John Wayne in Santa Ana, CA.

Favorite international airport: Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix.

Favorite hotel: I have literally stayed in thousands. I will undoubtedly forget some. First off, I am a Marriott guy. I like the Ritz-Carlton at LA Live. I also love the St. Regis Monarch Beach.

Favorite travel credit card: AmEx.

Favorite island: St. Croix.

Favorite beach: Lewes, DE…its my family beach.

Favorite fancy restaurant: Naked Taco in Miami Beach. My favorite restaurant period. The great Ralph Pagano is the chef there and it is amazing.

Favorite hole-in-the-wall: Moonshine in Philly is awesome. Great food set in an old establishment. Also, Conch Island in Rehoboth, DE.

Favorite bar: Slowdown Bar & Grill in Aston, PA. My hometown bar with all of my local friends.

Favorite fruit: Bananas.

Favorite food: Italian and BBQ.

Least favorite food: Wax beans.

Drink of choice (in the air and on the ground): Non-alcoholic is coffee. Alcoholic: Delco Lager beer.

Favorite travel movie(s): Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Hey, I love a good comedy.

Favorite travel show(s): I like the travel food shows and the travel real estate shows. I like to see the way people live in other parts of the world.

Right now I am reading: It’s preseason football time, so I’m reading a lot of football magazines. I have to beat my kids in fantasy Ffootball this year!

Top 3 favorite travel newsletters/magazines/blogs: A Luxury Travel Blog and TravelDudes for blogs. I will read any travel magazine I can find when traveling.

Favorite travel website(s)—besides JohnnyJet.com, of course! JohnnyJet.com is number 1. I go to Orbitz for all of my travel planning.

5 things you bring on a plane: My iPad, my earphones, RUSH music to pass the time, a football or baseball magazine, and things to give to fans I might run into.

What do you always seem to forget? Hair gel.

What do you like least about travel? The time that it takes. Between the security lines, the waits, the inevitable delays…it is so time-consuming.

What do you want your loved one to buy you from an airport Duty Free store? Some cool, new electronic gadget. Preferably to watch videos or listen to music.

Favorite travel app(s): My favorite apps are not for planning trips, but tracking expenses on the trips.

Most embarrassing travel moment: I cannot really think of anything super embarrassing, thank goodness.

I’m embarrassed but I haven’t been to: Montana. I hear it is incredible there, yet I have not been. I need to go.

Worst travel moment: When I was on a repo and had to change plans due to the plane moving. I went from PHL to SAC. Plan moved, so I had to go to Spokane…and my luggage with my files went to CLT. I had no clothes, no supplies and nothing to repo the airplane with.

What’s your dream destination? Ireland and Italy.

Favorite travel charity: My favorite charity is St Jude Children’s Hospital. I always felt kids should be allowed to grow up healthy and innocent. St. Jude, between treatment and research, helps more kids be allowed to do this. Any charity that helps kids that need the treatment get to their treatment facility is tops for me.

Best travel tip: Prepare before the trip and relax when traveling. Something you don’t expect will happen. It won’t ruin the trip.
