SafesmokesE-Cigarettes Now Forbidden in Checked Luggage
We recently featured a tip about flying with batteries—and how the FAA has urged airlines to tell passengers not to bring them in their checked luggage due to a risk of explosion. The latest news is that a new rule will forbid e-cigarettes and similar electronic smoking devices from all checked luggage, period. You can still bring them in your carry-on, but charging them in flight will also be forbidden.

“The rule goes into effect within the next two weeks,” says the LA Times, who has more on the news here.
