How often do you fly: Last year (2011) I took a total of 35 flights.

How many countries have you been to: 52

How many continents have you been to:  5

Favorite American city: New York City

Favorite international city: London, Mumbai, Bangkok

Least favorite country: I don’t have one. Every place has its good and bad points.

Favorite World Heritage Site: This is like the favorite child question…too hard to pick.

Favorite airline: Bangkok Airways

Favorite Plane 747. Probably to  do with nostalgia as it was the first aircraft I went overseas on, and I associate them with long haul travel.

Favorite airport lounge: Koh Samui, Thailand. The whole airport is practically an airport lounge as it is owned by Bangkok Airways, and all passengers have lounge privileges.

Favorite U.S. airport: Detroit Metro

Favorite international airport: Hong Kong or Amsterdam Schiphol.

Favorite hotel: Marina Bay Sands for its ridiculous infinity pool

Favorite island: Isle of Arran – Ireland

Favorite hole in the wall: Countless no name street eateries across Southeast Asia.

Favorite fruit: Rambutans

Favorite food: A three-way tie between Indian, Thai, and Mexican.

Least favorite food: I’ve never been able to finish a piece of durian.

Drink of choice (In the air and on the ground): In the air: orange juice- On the ground: Coffee.

Favorite travel show(s): Any BBC nature documentaries.

Right now I’m reading: Burmese Days- George Orwell

Five things you bring on a plane: Laptop, ipod, neck pillow, book, pen and paper

What do you always seem to forget: To charge my electronic devices.

Favorite travel iPhone app(s): My most used is tripit.com. I no longer print travel documents.

Most embarrassing/worst travel moment: Not getting a visa for Romania back when Australians need one. When I got to the border I was taken off the train and sent back to Hungary.

What’s your dream destination: Space (I’m available for press trips, Sir Richard ;) )

Favorite travel website(s) – besides JohnnyJet.com, of
course!: There are too many to pick from now so I don’t have a favourite. I tend more to read great articles from from trusted link curators.

Best travel tip: If I am traveling in one country for an extended period of time I always get a local sim card for my phone.
