Here’s another video from Piedmont, Italy!

The link above is of the Mole Antonelliana, home of the Museo Nazionale del Cinema (Museum of Cinema) in Torino. It’s the coolest museum I have ever been to and it’s also the tallest in the world at 167 meters (548 feet) tall. A glass elevator takes visitors 59 seconds up to the look out point which is 85 meters (279 feet) high. I have a slight fear of heights so my palms were sweating bullets! We dined at one of the best (and most expensive) restaurants in Piedmont. Combal.Zero in Castello di Rivoli. Dinner was 14 courses and took 6 hours! But it sure was tasty and an experience like no other.

 

With the quaint town of La Morra in the background this unusual church (called Cappella delle Brunate) in the middle of the vineyards really brighetend up the area.

 

The weather was remarkably warm (74 degrees) which made it perfect to take a tour of Monforte in Alba. The town is small, quaint with a bunch of great shops and café's.
 

Torino, Italy is in the region of Piedmont which is a food and more importantly chocolate lover's paradise. I was fortunate to get a behind the scenes tour of one of the most famous chocolate companies; Peyrano Fabbrica di Cioccolato. This was torture for me since I gave up Chocolate for lent.
 

Buongiorno! I am in Torino -- an easy 90 minute drive North West of Milano -- with a few other journalists checking out the city before the whole World does at next year's Winter Games.
 

Wednesday I flew LAX-EWR-MXP on Continental. The flight was smooth and the food/service was good.
 

Last night I went to the 2005 TV Land Awards at the Barker Hangar in the Santa Monica Airport. This is one of my favorite awards show, not only because I get to hang out with the TV stars (pictured with Gavin MacLeod from the Love Boat) I grew up watching but they always have the coolest set design and a great buffet dinner afterwards. Friday night I went to the Sky Light Bookstore in Los Feliz to support a friend's new book. It's called Honeymoon with My Brother and has been getting mad press (Today Show, CNN, Dennis Miller...). Check out Franz and Kurt Wisner's website HoneymoonWithMyBrother.com or buy the book on Amazon.com.

I flew back to L.A. on a half empty 757. The flight is 2,720 miles and takes 5:42 minutes but is a piece of cake especially when one gets a whole row for themselves.
 

At the airport I tried to get the American Airlines agent to waive the $100 USD change fee for staying an extra day. I even offered to point out which words from the sign (pictured above) on the counter were misspelled. Denied!
 

It was time to for my Dad, brother and I to head back to the San Jose Airport. I flew to L.A., while those two and our friend Danny went to Colombia. I was bummed I didn’t go but I had so much work to do before my next week trip. Hopefully, there will be a next time.

Canopy Tour

Spent the night in Jaco, Costa Rica. The place has potential to be really nice with it's wide black sand beaches and landscape but the city needs to pick up the litter. Unless you are a surfer looking to party this grungy little town probably isn't for you.  

On Saturday I did one of the craziest things (since I am afraid of heights) I have ever done. With my friend's-- Danny Mac and Jim C we did a Canopy Tour (Tiki Tours). We soared over the tree tops from tree to tree using a zip line. It was awesome.
 

At the Manuel Antonio National Park we also saw monkeys and three-toed sloths (Pictured above) 

Manuel Antonio National Park was awesome. We hired a private guide for $20 each and he showed us where all the exoctic animals were. Check out this Toucan!
 

Friday, with our friend Andy, my dad and I took a boat out to check out the Costa Rican coastline. It was awesome-- The water about 82 degree.  

On Thursday, the whole gang (including my Dad) arrived in Quepos, Costa Rica for the BIG party.  

We were the first out of the 15 guys to make it to Costa Rica. Last night my brother and I stayed in San Jose and had breakfast on the outdoor patio of the Gran Hotel. In a couple hours we are headed to the West Coast for the big party. Photo Taken By Joe Lewis.

Spring Training

Yesterday I had the treat of taking my niece and nephew to their first baseball game. We saw the first game of Spring Training as we watched the Univ. of Miami play the Florida Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, FL. Afterwards my brother and I met some friends in South Beach for a night on the town. Gotta go catch a plane to Central America.
