In Rome, I stayed at the 4* Empire Palace Hotel

The hotel was really nice

And had a nice lobby

From Capri I took a 45 minute ferry to Napoli

Then took a 2 hour EuroStar train to Roma  

Took a chairlift

up Capri's highest peak

The view was incredible

and there were Roman Ruins

Then we walked down (35 minutes)

We toured all around

Then had an unforgettable boat tour

of the whole island

We checked out caves

Inside

and Grotto's

went swimming

and went to the world famous Blue Grotto

the ferry to Capri

It took 90 minutes and cost only 9.50 euros.

My buddy Mike and his parents picked me up from the Naples airport and we drove 90 minutes to there house in Moio, Italy.

On the way we stopped at a gas station. Get this they served some of the best pizza I have ever had.

Then we stopped at the Nido Country House in Casal Velino Marina. We had a tasty late dinner.

Now doesn't that look good!

Mike's parents house was really nice and I slept well each night.

Every morning we went down to town and had breakfast

That's right! It was more like dessert.

I flew alpiEagles (a low fare carrier) to Napoli

The flight took only 55 minutes and cost under $100 for a one-way ticket

They made us board a bus to walk 70 yards

Venice is where I parted ways with my sister and dad. Carol went home on the second day.

My dad and Nancy flew back to the States two days later.

My trip was just beginning as I headed off to the airport!

I was sad to leave them but happy I didn�t have to lug around any more huge bags as I flew to Napoli.

I bought a one way ticket on AlpiEagles (a low cost airline) for $97. The flight took exactly 1 hour.
 

Just make sure you bring plenty of film or extra MB's for your digital camera.

We went to the Island of Murano ("The Glass Island") to check out the goods.

Also visited Burano island which is very colorful and a treat to stroll around.  

Venice was better then I ever imagined. I heard so many negative things about Venice but I found them untrue. It's now one of my favorite cities. ||  

We stayed at the 5* San Clemente Palace Hotel & Resort.

The 200 room hotel (the largest in Venice) is on it's own private island.

As you can see the place was plush!

The rooms are killer with high ceilings and

a marble bathroom!

They have a pool and a

Tennis courts 

Venice was simply Amazing! It all started by getting picked up at the train station by Cinzia and her husband Luigi who run Venice Guide And Boat (www.veniceguideandboat.it).

From Zermatt we took the train to Venice (Via Brig & Milano). Took about 6 hours but was a smooth and beautiful ride.

We went for a hike to an amazing restaurant called "Chez Vrony"

It was a meal (and view) we will never forget. 

And they had an Indoor/Outdoor pool. 

The wedding was at the 5* Riffelap Hotel! It was plush. 

This was the finish. Cricket is officially a "DiScala"!  

This was the real start!

But we did find a restaurant/bar! 

We didn't make it that far up!  

Before the big day we went for a hike up the Matterhorn trail.

Downtown Zermatt is amazing! Just wait until you see the shot of the Matterhorn.  

The first couple nights we stayed at the 3* City Hotel in Zermatt. It was really cozy and the owners were too cool.  

We took the train from Geneva to Visp to Zermatt. Total travel time 3:40 min. One of the most beautiful train rides around but don't do it with a lot of luggage!  

As you can see...Geneva is a beautiful city.  

In Geneva I stayed at the 4* Hotel Royal. They upgraded me to a Junior Suite and the place was definitely SWEET! Website: www.manotel.com/royal  

Took the TGV train From Paris to Geneva (3:20) and met up with my friends Andy and Rebecca.  

Frank tied the knot last night.  

I have been traveling like crazy around Europe. I found out about the London bombing while in Switzerland. It's such a damn shame but I am not deterred from going there next week. When I get some time I will update this blog some more.
 

Bonjour! 

I just arrived after a long day of traveling. Any guesses which airport this is?  

I just landed in Chicago's O'Hare Int'l Airport. The weather is beautiful here but I am stuck in ORD waiting for my connection flight to ???  

My friends/family took me to dinner last night at one of my favorite restaurants --- The Ivy. The place is $$$ but the food is sooooo good! Make sure to sit outside on the patio and make reservations.
