Yapta.com Are you baffled or frustrated by the constant rise and fall of airfare prices? Well, today (May 22, 2007) a new website called Yapta.com launched a service that tracks airfare prices and alerts consumers to price drops on specific flights. Best of all, the service continues to track prices even AFTER tickets have been purchased and alerts consumers when they're eligible for a travel voucher or cash rebate! The first step is to download the free software, though currently, it only works with Internet Explorer for Windows. Then, shop for flights like you normally would on these airline/online travel agency websites: Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, Expedia, Frontier, JetBlue, Northwest, Orbitz, Southwest, Ted, Travelocity, United and US Airways. Once you price out a flight on one of the sites listed above, "Tag It with Yapta" displays next to the select button, which enables Yapta to track prices and alert you via email if/when the price drops. This way, you can either get a refund or buy that low-fare ticket on the non-stop 9am flight that you really wanted to take to begin with.
