Unlike other environmental organizations, Earthwatch Institute puts men and women in the field where they can assist scientists in their work. Earthwatch people learn new skills, while developing a deeper understanding of their role in building a sustainable future. Earthwatch believes that teaching and promoting scientific literacy is the best way to solve the many complex environmental and social issues facing society today. The cost of an excursion ranges from $1,000 - $4,000.
