The estimates are based on historical data and it depends on which airport you are flying to/from and the time of your flight. They project four to five months in the future but they do not take into consideration "in the moment" delays such as weather or technical difficulties. I’m not too sure how accurate this information is, even though they claim that analytical professionals with a strong base in statistics run it.

I don’t watch much TV but each year, the one thing I never want to miss is the one-week period when The Today Show’s Matt Lauer takes to the skies on his yearly jaunt around the world. In just five days, he travels as much as I do in a month! Now that’s incredible and I admire his stamina ... though, let’s not forget that he’s being whisked around in a private jet. This week, I’m out of the country too so I’m not watching from home but rather I’m tuning in on my computer using Slingbox or online at MSNBC.com. You can too!

NEWS ALERT: Eos Airlines has filed for bankruptcy

As predicted, Eos Airlines has filed for bankruptcy and is ceasing all flights after today. It’s a sad day because Eos was one of my favorite airlines. Here’s the link to my Story and Video from my trip to London a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, Eos won’t be the only airline ceasing operations this year and possibly even this week. With such high jet fuel prices, they just can’t compete.
