Travel Video of the Week: Man Sleeping on Moving Baggage Carousel

Baggage carousel

It’s not quite clear how this happened, but it’s funny all the same: In this video shot at the Domodedovo Airport south of Moscow, a man is captured fully asleep on a moving conveyor belt. H/T to Road Warrior Voices.

Travel Video of the Week: Busted! Guy On Plane Can’t Keep Eyes To Himself

Snooping

I’ve written before about how to protect your privacy on planes in my Daily Travel Tip newsletter (sign up here) by using a 3M Privacy Filter. But this video from James Grande shows you in a real and funny way that’s there’s reason to want to keep those sneaky, snooping eyes away—especially if you’re doing work that’s confidential.

Travel Video of the Week: New Air France Safety Video

Air France

Air France just introduced a new in-flight safety demonstration video showcasing the French way of flying. Air France revised the style of its video to keep passengers’ attention by using attractive women, adding some humor and hiring a choreographer. The video will be on all long-haul and some medium-haul flights starting in April.

Travel Video of the Week: Insane POV Mountain Biking in Chile

Red Bull

It seems like every time there’s an insane adventure video on YouTube, the folks at Red Bull are behind it. This video, in which one of their mountain bikers straps a GoPro camera to his helmet and takes off through the hills and streets of Valparaiso, Chile, is no exception. The terrain we see is one […]

Travel Video of the Week: Conan in Cuba

Conan

With US-Cuban relations easing, late night funnyman Conan O’Brien headed south to film an episode of his show Conan from Cuba, and it aired last week. The result was a pretty funny piece of television that included Conan taking a dance lesson, speaking Spanish, narrating everyday Cuban life from a rooftop, and more. Check out the […]

Travel Video of the Week: Dramatic Skydive Rescue

Skydiving

I’m not into skydiving, but this is an incredible video (the incredible part starts a minute in). It shows a remarkable skydive rescue by skydive master Sheldon McFarlane rescuing a customer who was in trouble over Western Australia. It turns out the jumper was suffering from a seizure, and the two were 20 seconds from […]

Travel Video of the Week: Wingsuit Nut Flying Over Walenstadt, Switzerland

Walenstadt

I used to dream of flying like Superman but somewhere along the way I developed a slight fear of heights, so I’ll probably never find myself zipping up one of these wingsuits and jumping off a cliff. That said, I do enjoy watching the daredevils who do defy gravity nonchalantly, usually with a GoPro strapped […]

Travel Video of the Week: KLM Cockpit Tales (Autopilot in Action)

Autopilot

Kudos to KLM for allowing cameras in the cockpit during this flight from Amsterdam to London to show aviation geeks and curious travelers how autopilot works. Captain van Dorst and some nice production offer a nice explanation in this nine-minute segment from the great KLM Cockpit Tales series.
