  • PLEASE SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE: Fellow Johnny Jetters—Happy New Year! One of our goals for 2007 is to help raise awareness (and $$) for cancer research. On Patriot’s Day, (Monday April 16th), we will be running the 111th Boston Marathon as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team (DFMC). Located in Boston, MA, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a pioneer in the development of cancer treatments used around the world. You may or may not have heard of Dana Farber, but you have undoubtedly heard of the "Jimmy Fund." Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised $450 million. Thousands of cancer patients have been helped through this effort. We are part of a team of 500 who will run the marathon in an effort to raise $4 million. Every dollar we raise goes directly to cancer research at Dana-Farber. Our personal goal is to raise $10,000 for Dana-Farber cancer research and we need your help. This is personal and important to us. After his third diagnosis, Amy’s dad could only ask, "How many times can a guy get cancer?" Though we are happy to report that he is doing great, the battle against cancer is still being fought. Please help us to save the lives of friends, family members, and colleagues—as well as protecting all of our futures. As subscribers to JohnnyJet.com, we share a passion for travel, adventure, and life. We are asking for each member of JohnnyJet.com to consider a nominal contribution of just $5, (more if you are able). Starbucks will still be there tomorrow and your sacrifice will help make a significant difference in Dana-Farber’s journey to the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. Donations may be made at: dfmarathon.kintera.org (and click on "Make a Donation to Support a Runner" and log on to the web page of "John Calvert" or "Amy Calvert"). Every dollar counts. Your support will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration, John & Amy Calvert - Los Angeles, CA

GOOD TO KNOW!
My secret Mediterranean hideaway

Quick question: Where in the world is Gozo? Anyone? Bueller? No? I'm not surprised. I've spent entire summers backpacking across Europe searching for its hidden gems, and I hadn't heard of Gozo, either—at least not until a few months ago, when I had the chance to visit this sleepy Mediterranean island whose name means, simply, "joy."
