- American Airlines Rolls Out AAdvance Bag Check: FORGET CURB-SIDE CHECK IN, NOW THERE'S SOMETHING EVEN BETTER. American Airlines has just introduced its new AAdvance Bag Check program, which allows passengers to check bags in remote locations such as onboard cruise ships, hotels and convention centers throughout the U.S. Passengers also receive their boarding passes, which enables them to go directly to security screening and straight to the gate. Baggage is then transported directly to the passenger's destination airport where they can pick it up on arrival. Bags must be dropped off at least 24 hours prior to departure. Currently the service is offered from a number of cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian, and 34 other locations, including 19 Disney resorts and hotels in Orlando, Fla., Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center and San Francisco's Moscone Center. The service is provided by Baggage Airline Guest Services, Inc. (BAGS) and costs $10 to $20 depending on location. For more information, visit aa.com/aadvancebagcheck.
