- INDULGE IN TRAVEL AND SAVE THE WORLD: online AUCTION OF EXOTIC TRAVEL PACKAGES BENEFITS CONDé NAST TRAVELER FIVE&ALIVE FUND
monies support programs improving children’s health in more than 30 countries
NEW YORK (November 19, 2007) – From December 1 through December 14 consumers can bid on a collection of insider travel packages at www.charityfolks.com/cntfiveandalive, and feel good about giving back to the world. The monies raised from the auction proceeds will benefit the Condé Nast Traveler Five&Alive Fund, a partnership with Population Services International, which supports childhood survival programs in more than 30 countries around the globe. From Malaysian beaches to the Rocky Mountains, the auction offers experiences for every traveler. Some of the packages include:
• Luxury Vail ski vacation with private instructor provided by Vail Resorts”
• Peruvian Machu Pichu adventure from Orient-Express
• Exotic getaways in Muscat, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai donated by Shangri-la
• Canadian escapes to Banff, Whistler, Vancouver and New Foundland courtesy of Fairmont Hotels
The money raised will make a dramatic difference. Every year, nearly 10 million children in impoverished countries die before they reach the age of five because they lack access to clean drinking water, basic medicines and mosquito netting. But as little as $5 can provide an insecticide-treated net for an African child or pregnant woman, while $25.00 can buy antibiotics that will save the lives of more than 100 children.
