- The Department of Homeland Security has announced that the final date has been set for the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative passport requirement. As of January 23rd, all U.S. citizens returning from Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean nations by air will be required to present a valid passport to re-enter the country.
