- GlobeDialer.com
For all those Skype lovers (I’m one) who wish there was an international calling service similarly cheap and easy, but for cell phones: Globe Dialer.com could be the answer. This new service can save you lots of money when you make international calls directly from your mobile phone. Just download a free software application that functions as a secondary phonebook for all of your international contacts. When you call a number from the Globe Dialer phonebook, it's automatically routed through their system. So you only use the domestic minutes with your existing carrier. and then are charged by Globe Dialer (similar to the way Skype bills users) at calling card rates. Prices range from 3.5 cents per minute to London and 4˘ to Hong Kong, to 8˘ to Brazil. Globe Dialer currently works with Motorola, Nokia, Sony and Treo Java-enabled phones. Coming soon: BlackBerry, Samsung and LG. If your carrier does not support the Globe Dialer application on the phone, you can get access to the Globe Dialer service by using dial-in numbers they provide.
