 WEBSITE OF THE WEEK |
- nhc.noaa.gov
Although June 1 was the official start of the Northern Hemisphere hurricane season, and it lasts through November 30, the most active time is late August through October. As you know the storms have already started to brew. nhc.noaa.gov helps
users track storms, providing plenty of helpful info including
planning vacation travels. The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Association) Hurricane Center's crack forecasters predict a very active hurricane season, with 13 to 16 becoming named storms, 8 to 10 of those turning into hurricanes, and 4 to 6 developing into major
hurricanes of Category 3 strength or higher.
