- The definitive guide to airline Wi-Fi and internet access
Ever wonder if your upcoming flight offers wireless internet? And if they do, how much they charge? This new guide to airline Wi-Fi and internet access answers those questions and more. The guide lists airlines and flight numbers that currently offer Connexion by Boeing (high-speed wireless internet). Boeing announced in August that they are discontinuing their wireless internet service. I mention this new guide not only in hopes of creating more of a demand for onboard wireless internet, but also to alert you that those airlines currently offering this service now give it free of charge (until the end of 2006, or till they pull the plug). Let’s hope another company steps in and takes over. I used this service on my SAS flight in June to Copenhagen, and it was awesome! I was surfing the net and talking (using Skype) to friends while I was 35,000 feet above the Atlantic. Wireless internet on planes really does make time “fly.”
