WEBSITE OF THE WEEK

    WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
  • CompassionateTravel.org

  • Here’s a new website that just launched yesterday by The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA). It’s geared towards travelers who love animals. CompassionateTravel.org provides all the information that a traveler needs to make their trip animal-friendly. They have information on what to avoid, what to do should you encounter animal cruelty while traveling and animal-friendly travel ideas. There are volunteer vacation opportunities where travelers can help animals while abroad at exotic animal sanctuaries in over 30 countries and also a list of places/activities to avoid like bullfights and swimming with the dolphins. And of course, what vacationers should not purchase, such as tortoiseshells and horns.

    BONUS WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
  • Zeppelin Tours
Thanks to reader Jay Carson for turning us on to this airship’s website. What’s so cool about it is that it has original Zeppelin photographs, postcards, mail, documents and the interiors of not only the Graf Zeppelin but of the Hindenburg. I’ve always heard about these ships but never knew what they were like inside. Just in case you missed it, a few months ago we wrote about a new company based in San Francisco that has brought the Zeppelin back with tours of the Golden Gate Bridge and even Long Beach.

    TRAVEL PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
  • FlyBags

  • Are you freaking out because you’re about to go on vacation and you don’t know how you’re going to shrink down your favorite toiletry products because they have to be three ounces or less? Well, don’t fret. All you need to do is get one of these Flybags ($16) that come in a stylish, TSA-compliant, clear one-quart size zip-top pouch with three, three-ounce plastic bottles to fill up with your shampoos, conditioners, lotions or whatever you need. And as an added bonus is a five-pack of earplugs and an eye mask so you’ll be good to go. Of course, you can go to Target or CVS and buy all of this for less but it won’t be as easy and you definitely won’t be as stylin’!

    TRAVEL VIDEO OF THE WEEK
  • Canada, Please!

  • This Saturday, July 4th is our Independence Day and the parties are going to be in full swing! I know I will be on the beach playing volleyball! But we can’t forget about our neighbors to the north, now can we? Canada Day is today (July 1st) and in honor of it, check out this catchy grassroots music video a couple made. Maybe the Canadian tourism board should think about acquiring it!
