I did Peter Greenberg’s nationally broadcasted radio show last week (here’s the link) and one his guests was a columnist for WorldGolf.com. Since I’d never heard of it, I logged on and liked what I saw. I know a ton of my friends just travel so they can play golf around the country (even the world!) so I figured this would be pretty popular. WorldGolf.com brings viewers the latest news from the world of golf, plus insightful commentaries and reviews of courses and golf equipment. Their destination features and reviews may help you plan your next vacation.
If you’re following me on Twitter, you know I was at the Yankees vs Red Sox game Sunday night at the new Yankee stadium. What a comeback by my boys! Well, what I didn’t tweet was that I happened to run into Meryl Pearlstein
(thanks to Facebook) who is in travel PR but also maintains a twice-weekly blog about travel, food and everything New York. It’s always nice to get insiders tips even though she’s a Boston native and worse, a Red Sox fan (boo!). But her blogs are interesting and helpful to visitors to the Big Apple. Here's a brief summary of her posts thus far: Street Food Watch: 86th and Lex. Free Things to Do in New York City with Kids, In Search of the Perfect Lobster Roll…Again!
Last week our Mugged In Barcelona story turned out to be a huge hit. Cynthia’s story struck a nerve with our readers and the comments are still flowing in. In addition to the comments, travel companies are sending all kinds of products that help keep valuables safe while traveling. The first one to reach my desk was the PortaPocket. This portable pocket is perfect for all those times when you just want to carry a little something whether when you’re walking down a cobblestone street or jogging on the beach. These portable pockets are simple, lightweight, comfortable and convenient. They're great for carrying cash, credit cards, IDs, business cards, medication, jewelry... just about anything that's small and important. The PortaPocket cases are designed to fit your calf, thigh, ankle, arm, or waist, and are optionally discreet as they can be worn over or under your clothing. There’s a detachable pocket that offers you the ease of use in having both hands to work and they begin at just $5.95.
My dad sent me this video three times this week and he’s definitely contributed to its 5 million plus views. The two-minute video depicts how crazy the driving in India is -- as my dad says: it’s a lawyers dream. The coolest part is that I actually experienced it firsthand. And seeing it at eye level instead of from an overhead shot is a whole different experience. BTW: If you’re interested in reading my stories on India, here they are
(Jet Airways,
Delhi,
the Taj Mahal,
a tiger safari in central India and
Mumbai).
