  • National Anthems From All Over The World

  • Sadly, the Olympics are over now but one of the things I loved most about watching them was hearing national anthems from all over the world. And now, thanks to the New York Times, you can listen to the national anthems of 27 different nations. This page offers up both the history of each anthem and a link to listen online. BTW: I think that the United States has the best national anthem by far but perhaps I’m just biased. Take a listen to others from around the world and decide for yourself.

  • TheEtiquetteEffect.com

  • When I hit the road, the thing that irks me most is rude travelers. Maybe a website like this will help to teach people some manners when they take to the skies. The website is sponsored by Hyatt Place, who partnered with etiquette expert Anna Post (great great granddaughter of Emily Post), and is designed to provide travelers and today’s professionals with contemporary etiquette advice needed to gain a competitive edge. TheEtiquetteEffect.com supplies tips, FAQs, and advice so check it out or pass it on to your oblivious seatmate.

  • As I wrote a few weeks back, while my brother is undergoing his cancer treatment, we are supporting any worthy cancer foundations. Check out eleven-year-old Megan Maloney’s. She is going to Stand Up To Cancer and is making it easy for the rest of the world to join her. Megan’s grandfather and uncle recently died of cancer and her grandmother, a breast cancer survivor, recently died of a heart attack. Megan’s idea is to do her part so that others would not have to face the tragic loss of family members and was the inspiration behind Charity Pro Travel Inc., a revolutionary international travel website and booking engine that donates commissions to both selected and consumer chosen charities. Soon after its launch by her father Brad this past spring, Charity Pro Travel, Inc. announced its partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Stand Up To Cancer initiative. Charity Pro Travel Inc. will donate increased percentages of proceeds from all travel booked at www.charityprotravel.com through September 2008 to Stand Up To Cancer. As a result of this partnership, Megan and Brad will be guests of Stand Up To Cancer and attend their nationally televised event on September 5.
