WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
  • CheckInSooner.com

  • If you travel a lot and want to check-in online but can’t always remember to do so 24 hours in advance, you’ll find this website helpful – it will automatically check you in and email you your boarding card. This is especially useful for those who have a late night or early morning departure. So now there’s no need to stay up past your bedtime! CheckInSooner.com is free for first-timer users – then the service gets pricey unless you travel a lot and can get your company to foot the bill. To give it a shot, all you need to do is enter in your first name, last name and your six-character airline confirmation number and then they'll check-in for you. No need to sign up for an account for first-time use. CheckInSooner.com will check you in automatically, 24 hours before your departing flight and again for your return flight. What could be easier and more convenient? You have nothing to lose! Well, except that middle seat in the back of the plane.

    BONUS WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
  • Airline Timetables

  • Someone asked me yesterday if I knew whether or not there was a nonstop flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Hartford, Connecticut (BDL). I knew American used to offer this service but wasn’t sure if they had done away with it. So I logged on to AirTimeTable.com and put in the names of the two cities. Sure enough, American has nixed that flight but Delta is offering one, though it appears they might only be offered seasonally or it’s about to get the axe because it wasn’t available the following month.

AirTimeTable.com lists almost all the flight possibilities between these two cities and, for that matter, any two cities in the world. So before booking your tickets using an online travel agency (hopefully, you are using JohnnyJet.com to book your trips!), log on to this website to find out what the most convenient and fastest way to get there is ... it lists flight times. Then log on to the travel agency sites to find those same flights. Note: The most direct route could, and probably will, be more expensive.
