Greetings from Toronto! I just arrived to our northern neighbor and I'm sorry to report there's no sign of spring. Hello?! Mother Nature, it's almost April--can you please turn up the heat? Thanks to getting food poisoning I had a fairly uneventful week, so instead I'm going to tell you all about last month's incredible trip to Singapore.

UNCLE
I sent last week's newsletter a day late because on Wednesday I was out for the count. I'm still not 100 percent sure if it was food poisoning or the stomach flu, but either way I became violently sick late Tuesday night. It's the first time it's happened to me in years, but looking back there was some good to come out of it. First of all, I figured out how to stop time: Wednesday was without a doubt the longest day I can remember. Second, if you want to shed pounds, then eat some contaminated food. Seriously, if I had weighed in before and after I could've won The Biggest Loser. So far the whole incident has helped alter my food intake: I no longer eat monster portions, and I've already had a bunch of people say I look trimmer. Yeah Boyeee!

FOOD POISONING
If I did indeed get food poisoning, I got it from one of the best hotels in America--which is ironic because while I was in Asia I was worried about it being safe to eat food from street vendors. Maybe my Asian friends were right when they insisted it's safer to eat from (some) street vendors than it is in five-star hotels.

DID YOU KNOW? JohnnyJet.com is referenced several times in Kelly Merritt's new book: The Everything Family Guide to Budget Travel: Hundreds of Fun Family Vacations to Fit Any Budget. You can buy it on Amazon.com for $9.56 (36 percent off the cover price). We were also featured in this week's Alaska Dispatch on how to be a travel hacker or just fly like one.
