QUESTION:
With reference to news report last night.... the investigation on the plane that blew up in the air killing 265 people in 2001...the blame has been placed on the CO-PILOT using the rudder aggressively...I seem to feel somethings fishy.. what do you think?? Do you feel safe flying after finding out planes get stabbed with screwdrivers ?? Or don't you bother to watch the news???? Thanx and stay safe!!!

CAPTAIN TROY
First of all, the aircraft crashed. It did not "blow up in the air". Second, from watching the news, I understand that the NTSB is faulting the first officer in the accident. Having not been involved with the investigation or read the final NTSB report, I don't have enough information to comment. I don't believe everything I read in the news and have never heard of the screwdriver thing, sounds like an urban myth. And finally, I am definitely not afraid of flying, but I'm terrified every time I have to drive to the airport. Have a nice day!
