PROFILE

I am a former Radio and Television personality with both an Emmy nomination, and one of the little statues itself. I started Travel writing about 6 years ago. I currently contribute to Diversion Magazine (178,000), Westways (3,000,000 +), Forbes ASAP (1,000,000), Hawaii Westways, and Cruisemates.com.

I am married to Michael, a former actress, who has been a photographer for those same six years, with her work appearing in Porthole, Diversion, Forbes ASAP, Westways, Hawaii Westways, and Cruisemates.com.

We are based in Los Angeles, California, and are the traveling correspondents for KTX NewsRadio in Monterrey/Salinas California. I am the Travel Editor for the morning show ( www.gnarlydude.com/editors/geoffedwards.htm ), and also the Travel editor for The Golf Guys (www.cypressgolf.com ) We do weekly travel inserts on the morning show, and I do weekly updates on The Golf Guys. The Golf Guys is not only syndicated across the country, but is heard on 800 stations in 151 countries.

We are both members of the Society of American Travel Writers and I am a member of the East-West News Bureau.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU FLY?
About every 6 weeks.
IN A YEAR HOW MANY MILES/POINTS DO YOU EARN?
Around 30,000 plus.
WHAT CLASS OF SERVICE DO YOU MOSTLY FLY IN?
Mostly I fly in business class. I use mileage to upgrade to first on overseas flights
FAVORITE AIRLINE?
Virgin Atlantic hands down or seat back down as the case may be.
FAVORITE AIRCRAFT?
Triple 7
FAVORITE HOTEL?
L’Hotel De Crillon in Paris
FAVORITE HOTEL AMENITY?
I actually know of a hotel that added a surcharge to a bill, and when asked what it was, the clerk said it was for the free amenities. Best amenity, if it’s free, is broadband connection.
FAVORITE AIRPORT?
Palm Springs International. There is a putting green there.
FAVORITE AIRPORT TO PASS TIME IN?
LAX! Reason? It means I am going somewhere.
FAVORITE CITY?
Paris
FAVORITE RESTAURANT?
Well, the restaurant at L’Hotel De Crillon would be it, but after eating there, you have to ask me my favorite bank.
AISLE OR WINDOW?
Window, and DON’T ask me to pull down the shades. I would rather see the Grand Canyon then Debbie Does Dolphins on a small screen.
ETICKET OR PAPER?
Paper, Paper, Paper, Paper. “Sorry sir, our computer is down.” Like I care, my ticket is here in my hand!!
TRAVEL AGENT OR ONLINE?
Online. I am pretty anal when it comes to travel.
