JOHN'S ANSWERS

Since retiring as Sports Editor, I take most of my trips by car. Before that, it was 3-4 trips a year
IN A YEAR HOW MANY MILES/POINTS DO YOU EARN?
Almost none, now.
WHAT CLASS OF SERVICE DO YOU MOSTLY FLY IN?
Coach, unless I get upgraded.
FAVORITE AIRLINE?
American, but I think I'm in the minority because I also like Northwest a lot.
FAVORITE AIRCRAFT?
I've only been on an Airbus once, but it was the most comfortable plane I''ve flown. And I miss the L-1011.
FAVORITE HOTEL?
Ponte Hiltons in Phoenix, but when I'm spending my own money I usually choose Hampton Inns.
FAVORITE AIRPORT?
Maui (when I'm arriving). Milwaukee.
FAVORITE CITY?
London. AISLE OR WINDOW?
Don't really care.
ETICKET OR PAPER?
Eticket.
TRAVEL AGENT OR ONLINE?
A good travel agent is invaluable and I've had a good one, but I find myself booking most of my trips online recently.
FAVORITE TRAVEL WEBSITE?
If I could use only one it would probably be Expedia because it covers so many bases, but the travel site that does what it does the best, I think, is GORP.
FAVORITE TRAVEL COMPANION?
My wife, Judy.
BEST TRAVEL TIP:
Take time to talk to the locals and solicit their advice on what to see, where to eat. etc.
