Actual Miles Flown Since 1/1/00
Paul Goldstein (USA) and I battled against Carrasco-Velasco today. We
won the first two sets 6-4, 6-4, then lost the third 7-5. We were up 4-2
serving in the fourth set and 3-0 in the tiebreaker before losing it 7-6(5).
We broke serve at 1-1 in the fifth set and held on to win the match 6-4, 6-4,
5-7, 6-7(5), 6-2. It was an all out battle and tougher still because Paul
beat Tarango the day before 12-10 in the fifth set. He plays Jan-Michael
Gambill tomorrow, so hopefully, he has some legs left.
I play mixed doubles tomorrow with Erika DeLone vs. Sandon Stolle-Lori
McNeil. I think Paul and I play vs. Haarhuis-Stolle in the second round as
well. I try not to look ahead in the draw as my brain can only play one
match at a time or else it gets confused. I'm still in a bit of a haze, so
that's all I've got for you for now.
