CHRIS' ANSWERS
HOW OFTEN DO YOU FLY?
It depends. Sometimes I'm on the road for weeks at a time. Lately, I've been traveling less - maybe two weekends out of the month. You'll probably think this is strange, but even as a travel writer, it's my goal to travel as infrequently as possible. It's so hard to get any work done when you're away.
WHAT CLASS OF SERVICE DO YOU MOSTLY FLY IN?
Steerage class.
FAVORITE AIRLINE?
Pan Am, circa 1970.
FAVORITE AIRCRAFT?
I like sitting in the front of the MD-80. Takeoffs and landings are great and there's very little engine noise.
FAVORITE HOTEL?
The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas.
FAVORITE AIRPORT?
Ontario International Airport in Southern California.
FAVORITE CITY?
Berkeley, Calif. They have the best coffee shops in the world there.
AISLE OR WINDOW?
Window. I like to see where I'm going.
ETICKET OR PAPER?
Eticket. Never had a problem with one.
TRAVEL AGENT OR ONLINE?
I love travel agents, but when it comes to finding cheap airline tickets, I'm a do-it-yourself kind of guy.
FAVORITE TRAVEL WEBSITE?
Why, yours, of course!
FAVORITE TRAVEL COMPANION?
My girlfriend and partner in crime, Kari.
BEST TRAVEL TIP:
Pack light.
