The FEMA director has also encouraged folks to go to nvoad.org to donate. It lists many diverse organizations that folks can donate to – both at the State and National level. While the Red Cross brand is highly recognizable, I have reservations supporting them based on their record with other natural disasters i.e., Haiti. There are many other options for folks – the important thing is to find a way to help.
