Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Carolyn H., who says:
“My son’s laptop was picked up by someone at the TSA checkpoint in Atlanta right before Christmas. He, unknowingly, picked up hers and it took three days of furious search and panic before they were able to FedEx the laptops back to each other.
When you go through the TSA checkpoint, make sure your laptop can be easily identified (large orange sticker, sports team label) or put something else in the bin (sunglasses, paperback book) on top of the laptop. It won’t prevent outright theft, but will allow you to avoid a mixup.”
