Other
Taxis, limousines and guides are
readily available. Buses (approximately half-hourly) connect the airport
with Torino's bus station and the Porta Nuova
railway station. The journey costs €5 and takes 40 mins. There is also a train
service every half hour, running to Torino's Stazione Dora.
Car Rental
All the major car rental firms have
counters at both airports. If you plan to travel outside the downtown area, a
rental car is highly recommended.
Driving
Six different motorways connect
Torino to major European cities:
Milan in 60 minutes,
Genoa in 90, Nice and
Geneva in two and a half hours,
Lyon in three hours and
Zurich in four. New projects will
enhance road travel from Switzerland with the completion of the Sempione
motorway and from France with the new Mercantour and Colle di
Tenda tunnels.
Rail
Five railway stations, two of them
international, make access easy from all of
Italy and bordering countries: four pairs
of high-speed trains travel between Torino and
Paris in little more than five
hours. http://www.trenitalia.com/home/en/index.html
By Sea
The ports of
Genoa and Savona-Vado are linked to the
international road and rail network and enable to reach Piedmont easily.
