Travel App of the Week: Sickweather Alerts

SickweatherSickweather Alerts is a clever new iOS app that alerts users in real-time when they enter sick zones, from airports to an office. They get their info from reports of illness from Facebook and Twitter updates, so they supposedly know weeks in advance of traditional disease surveillance tools when illness outbreaks occur. Sickweather.com hosts the same information (and more), but if you want to get alerts to your phone (instead of waiting for the news to report outbreaks in your area), you can sign up for Sickweather Alerts via email and be notified as soon as possible.

They charge $1 per month per illness and they have 23 listed, from allergies to sore throats.
