ShowerAsk for a Shower
Feeling all grimy after a long flight only to find your room isn’t available for hours? Just ask the hotel if they have a day room or fitness center that you can use to take a shower and/or get cleaned up. You’d be surprised how many places do—and all you have to do is ask!

FYI: The double shower pictured above—a great one—and can be found at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, where I stayed in August.

Also, if your flight outbound isn’t until long after your hotel checkout time, you can check your bags with the concierge or bellman and often you can reserve a room for a shower when you reclaim your luggage. Especially nice at beach locations.
