Help Nepal, Earn Bonus Miles
By now you’ve no doubt heard about the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal over the weekend. It’s a tragic situation, and while Nepal is thousands of miles away, there are many ways to help here at home. Two of the major US airlines, in fact, deserve credit for their efforts:
- United Airlines has partnered with the American Red Cross, Americares, Airlink and Operation USAs and is offering bonus miles for all donations made to these organizations. As noted by Harriet Baskas, “MileagePlus members who give between $50-99 will receive 250 bonus miles, those who contribute $100-249 will receive 500 bonus miles, and members who donate more than $250 will receive 1,000 bonus miles.” The airline will also match flyer donations with their own $50,000. - American Airlines has partnered with the Red Cross, as it has done in the past, and is also offering bonus miles for donations. All donations of more than $50 will be met with 500 AAdvantage miles. Click here for more and to donate with American.
