GelatoKnow the Prices
An article I just read in the NY Post—“American couple calls cops after paying $50 for gelato in Rome—offered a detailed report on an American couple that called the cops after a vendor charged them more than $50 for three gelatos at Bar II Cafe, near the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Upon arrival, the cops determined the prices were perfectly legal since they were listed on the menu.

The (main) lesson learned here is this: Don’t order without looking at the prices—and with that, don’t go to a gelato place that’s empty. If it’s good and reasonably priced, there will likely be a line out the door. Since that’s not true every time, here’s contributor Jennifer Dombrowski’s (@jdomb) 12 Things You Never Knew About Italy, which includes advice on how to spot artisanal gelato.

I don’t understand what you are talking about.

Most people who go to a different country don’t know the local language.

In another case, they are looked different so it is easy to be trick.

Pay your money and your take your choice. For gracious sakes ASK the price before you buy. I’ve never had an experience like this and have been EVERYWHERE.

I’m in Vietnam and have a horrible time trying to figure out what some meals cost as 99% of the time the street food prices aren’t displayed. Like someone told me when I said I was being ripped off, he was like what “$.50? $1.00? You know how much these people make?” That put an end to that complaint,

That’s crazy! how they overcharge the tourists in some spots! they unfortunately do the same in Greece although the local police is putting fees for overpricing!
