LAX TowDon’t Park in a Tow-Away Zone at the Airport
Following up yesterday’s rental car-themed tip, here’s another: It’s common sense for most people, but last month, my wife and I were both flying out of LAX on separate flights out of different terminals. Her flight left an hour before mine, so I got off at her terminal, walked her to the security line and then walked to my terminal.

Along the way, I noticed three cop cars surrounding a parked car with no one in it. I assume the driver wanted to check in their friends/family or walk them to security. Well, within minutes, a tow truck had that car out of there. I wanted to stick around to see the look on the driver’s face when they realized their car was either stolen or towed but I didn’t have time. Moral of the story: Don’t leave your car unattended at the airport, even for a minute or two—especially at LAX.

Travel Tip of the Day; use the cell phone lot, don’t just sit in everyone else’s way at the pickup curb. Not only is it inconsiderate to your fellow travelers who have already arrived and need to be picked up, but it’s illegal to stop in that area unless you are ACTIVELY loading/unloading a passenger/luggage.
